Learning Designer⁺ Kevin Mattingly has been a science teacher, administrator and athletic coach for more than 35 years in junior high and high schools. In addition, he has taught graduate courses in cognitive science and its practical teaching applications for 12 years at Teachers College Columbia University. He has also helped start a school (The Mountain School in VT), been a consultant to several systemic school reform initiatives and worked with over forty public and private schools on curriculum design, teaching strategies, assessment, and professional development programs. In addition, he has been involved in a variety of summer academic programs for students from New York City, Philadelphia, Cleveland and other urban areas. In addition to his teaching at Columbia, he is the director of the co-curriculum for the Riverdale School (NYC). Mattingly holds a PhD in Zoology from Indiana University (IN).
